
Daniela Juarez – Lab Manager
Daniela received her B.A. in Psychology from Columbia University. In the lab, her research interests included affective and social neurodevelopment, individual differences in sensitivity to the environment and the biological factors associated with these individual differences, including brain function, structure, and autonomic nervous system activity. Before joining the BANDLab, she worked as a research assistant at Columbia DANLab contributing to research in neurobehavioral development in adolescents exposed to adverse childhood experiences. Daniela is currently a graduate student back at her alma mater, Columbia University, in the DANLab.

Mansi Kabre – Undergrad Research Assistant
Mansi graduated in May 2025 with a dual bachelors degree in Psychology and Human Development and Family Sciences. While in the lab, Mansi’s interest included marriage and family therapy. Mansi is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Southern Connecticut State University.

Isabella Rubin – Undergrad Research Assistant
Isabella graduated in May 2025 with a bachelors degree in Reproduction and Youth Health. While in the lab, Isabella’s interest included maternal mortality due to substance abuse, mental health and neurodevelopment. Isabella is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Public Health, with a concentration in Global Health at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.

Moeen Khawaja – Undergrad Research Assistant
Moeen graduated in May 2025 with a bachelors degree in Psychological Sciences. While in the lab, Moeens’s interests included childhood adversity and resilience along with social cognition, empathy, and mental health

Kaden Scopelliti – Undergrad Research Assistant
Kaden graduated in May 2025 with a bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in Biological Sciences. While in the lab, Kaden’s interests included developmental and social psychology surrounding mental health

Nuha Meelar – Undergrad Research Assistant
Nuha graduated in May 2025 with a bachelors degree in Molecular and Cellular biology. While in the lab, Nuha’s interests included physiological and neurological approaches to how major events in life can impact an individual mentally and physically

Sophia Amaral – Undergrad Research Assistant
Sophia graduated in May 2025 with a bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Sciences.. While in the lab, Sophias’s interests included childhood development and how certain experiences impact an individual over the course of their life.

Ellie Domian – Undergrad Research Assistant
Ellie graduated in Fall 2024 with a bachelors degree in Psychological Sciences and Economics. While in the lab. Ellie’s interests included the impact of adverse childhood experiences on development through adolescence and adulthood.

Alexis Lacross – Undergrad Research Assistant
Alexis graduated in May 2024 with a bachelors degree in Psychological Sciences. While in the lab, Alexis’s interests included child development, particularly in the face of trauma and adversity, and contributed the majority of her time in the lab coding certain projects in R as well as researching various topics.

Amrita Sapkota – Undergrad Research Assistant
Amrita graduated in May 2024 with a bachelors degree in Psychological Sciences. While in the lab, Amrita’s interests included the impacts of early life experiences on development across the lifespan. Amrita is currently completing a master’s at UConn’s School of Social Work.

Dana Parrott – Undergrad Research Assistant
Dana graduated in May 2024 with a bachelors degree in Psychological Sciences and had been working with Dr. Miller as a research assistant since January 2023. She plans on receiving a masters in clinical mental health counseling and later hopes to obtain a PhD in psychology. While in the lab, Dana’s research interests included understanding empathy, resilience, how trauma affects us as well as studying how we find our life purpose.

Keri Pietro – Undergrad Research Assistant
Keri graduated in May 2024 with a bachelors in Psychological Sciences and minor in Business Fundamentals.

Amanda Conrod – Undergrad Research Assistant
Amanda graduated in May 2024 with a double major in Allied Health Sciences and Speech Language & Hearing Sciences. Amanda plans to pursue a graduate degree in the field of Speech Language Pathology and hopes to work with children in a clinical setting.

Andrew Guerra – Undergrad Research Assistant
Andrew is a fourth year undergraduate student at the University of Connecticut majoring in Psychological Sciences. While in the lab, his interests included exploring developmental psychology.

Isha Mehta – Undergrad Research Assistant
Isha graduated in May 2024 with a bachelors in Allied Health Sciences and minor in Psychological Sciences. While in the lab, Isha’s interests included adverse childhood experiences and how that impacts a child’s development. Isha plans to apply to dental school.

Megan Ciraco – Undergrad Research Assistant
Megan graduated in May 2024 with a bachelors in Psychological Sciences and a double minor in Neuroscience and Human Development and Family Sciences. While in the lab, her interets included exploring the effects of early childhood relationships and experiences on social and emotional development.

Kendall Yang – Undergrad Research Assistant
Kendal graduated in Fall 2023 with a bachelors in Psychological Sciences. While in the lab, Kendall’s interests included the impact of family and schooling on children’s development and mental health. She is currently pursuing a Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness master’s degree at NYU.
