Eunice Kim – Lab Manager, Undergrad Research Assistant

Eunice was the lab manager for the BANDLab from 2025-2026. Prior to becoming the lab manager, she also worked as an undergraduate RA from 2024-2025. Eunice received her B.A. in Psychological Sciences with a minor in Asian American Studies from UConn in May 2025. In the lab, her research interests centered around the impacts of social, cultural, and environmental factors, as well as identity on youths’ development, mental health, and overall wellbeing. She also worked as the lab manager for the Gray Child and Family Lab at UConn Hartford. She is currently working as a research coordinator for the Lavender Lab at the University of Maryland.

Zayneb graduated in May 2026 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychological Sciences and a minor in Human Development and Family Sciences.

Morgan graduated in May 2026 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychological Sciences and a minor in Sociology. While in the lab, her research interests included developmental psychology and clinical psychology, specifically the development of social and emotional skills during childhood and adolescence. She plans to become a therapist.

Lili Filppu – Undergrad Research Assistant

Lili graduated in May 2026 with a dual bachelor’s degree in Psychological Sciences. While in the lab, her research interests included developmental psychology and how research can be applied to support resilience, student success, and well-being. She is currently a teacher for the Teach for America Connecticut corps.

Arsha Tone – Undergrad Research Assistant

Arsha graduated in May 2026 with a dual bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Human Development and Family Sciences. While in the lab, her research interests included adolescent development, ACES, and psychopathology in children and adolescents, particularly in relation to social relationships. She is currently working as a research assistant at Brown University in Rhode Island.

Alexsia Newman – Undergrad Research Assistant

Alexsia graduated in May 2026 with a dual bachelor’s degree in Developmental Neuroscience ad Spanish. While in the lab, her research interests included finding patterns in the connections between mental health and physical health of children and adolescents. She plans to work in pediatrics.

Daniela Juarez – Lab Manager

Daniela was the lab manager for the BANDLab from 2023-2025. Daniela received her B.A. in Psychology from Columbia University. In the lab, her research interests included affective and social neurodevelopment, individual differences in sensitivity to the environment and the biological factors associated with these individual differences, including brain function, structure, and autonomic nervous system activity. Before joining the BANDLab, she worked as a research assistant at Columbia DANLab contributing to research in neurobehavioral development in adolescents exposed to adverse childhood experiences. Daniela is currently a graduate student back at her alma mater, Columbia University, in the DANLab.

Mansi graduated in May 2025 with a dual bachelors degree in Psychology and Human Development and Family Sciences. While in the lab, Mansi’s interest included marriage and family therapy. Mansi is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Southern Connecticut State University.

Isabella graduated in May 2025 with a bachelors degree in Reproduction and Youth Health. While in the lab, Isabella’s interest included maternal mortality due to substance abuse, mental health and neurodevelopment. Isabella is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Public Health, with a concentration in Global Health at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.

Dana Parrott – Undergrad Research Assistant

Dana graduated in May 2024 with a bachelors degree in Psychological Sciences and had been working with Dr. Miller as a research assistant since January 2023. She plans on receiving a masters in clinical mental health counseling and later hopes to obtain a PhD in psychology. While in the lab, Dana’s research interests included understanding empathy, resilience, how trauma affects us as well as studying how we find our life purpose.
