College Life Influence in Mind and Body (CLIMB)

College is a transitional period characterized by unique opportunities but also challenges. For example, some mental health problems and risky health behaviors are more common among college students than non-college-attending peers. The CLIMB project seeks to characterize the unique experiences, contexts, and neurobiology of individual college students. We recruited UConn students of at least 18 years of age to participate in 6 visits to our laboratory in the Weston A. Bousfield Psychology Building at the UConn Storrs campus. Participants were asked to complete questionnaires, complete some short tasks, and complete some out-of-lab surveys. This study used brain and psychophysiological measures (e.g., fNIRS, heart rate) that involve participants wearing a cap and electrodes. This study has recently been completed and we are currently analyzing the data.
