Moeen Khawaja is an honors junior majoring in Psychological Sciences. He started research with Dr. Miller during the Spring semester of his sophomore year and is interested in developmental research with a focus on childhood adversity and resilience along with social cognition, empathy, and mental health. Outside of research, Moeen is a Resident Assistant (RA) and also works at the Asian American Cultural Center (AsACC). Besides work, he mentors BIOL 1107 Lab and is a mentor in the Asian/Asian American Mentoring Program (AMP) and Kids & UConn Bridging Education (KUBE). Additionally, he is an Honors Ambassador and an active volunteer in the Husky Ambassador Program (HAP). To relax and destress (something that is very important to him – maintaining balance), he likes to listen to music and create DIY projects, go on drives, or simply lay in bed and watch Netflix!
